The Christmas Card.
Flannel shirt ready and to-go coffees filled, we hit the road to our favorite spot, Bear Pond. It’s a little pond set a ways off the road and surrounded by pine trees and palms. We try to make it here a few times a month to kick back with nature and toss a couple lines in. For a while I was thinking it was my lucky spot, until Ryan started reeling the bass in one after the other. Red Shad has its way of doing that, you know, reeling bass in by the bulk. This was our first time at sunrise and it was beautiful. The colors in the sky. The tall skinny pines. The fog. The reflection of it all on the pond. The whispering deer. It was breathtaking.
Then there was Ryan, the tripod, and I.
It was a race against time because of lighting, but all so comical. Ryan is the camera expert, so he was planning the shots, changing the camera settings, starting the timer, and dashing back and forth to make each snap shot. Me? Assistant Extraordinaire, I was just working on standing there. This shoot was so enjoyable. It was a morning spent with Ryan, filled with imagination, laughs, surprise kisses, scared faces, and the opportunity to act like bears. The last photo is our Christmas card we sent out to our friends and family. WARNING: Bear in photo is cute and we couldn’t NOT put him on our Christmas card!
I hope everyone had a Beary Christmas!
Happy New Year
