Portraits can be fun, and then portraits can be a freaking blast! Photographing Roxie this morning was a blast! I spent more time playing and listening to this little pup squeal like a tiny pig, than I did framing my shots. I actually didn’t spend much time photographing at all, because Roxie never likes to relax for too long. She’s always on the go and ready for action, and if nothing is happening, she is putting her nose to work.
I arrived at Roxie’s backyard around 7:45 this morning. The sunlight was perfect, and I was already two cups of coffee into something special. I only used my 50mm and 100mm during this quick hour long session. The shallow depth of field does not tend to yield a ton of in focus photos, but the quality is there if you are patient. My strategy was simple, focus on her beautiful eyes, or her giant sniff machine. I was able to squeeze in a macro shot of her little nose, which took about 15 minutes of focusing. Overall, a successful photo shoot of one of the coolest puppies on earth.
I have to say, I love Bulldogs now!

That puppy is adorable! Great photos! You need to come to Pensacola and take pics of Maximus and MJ! Then you will also fall in love with Boston Terriers!
